Info[edit | edit source]

The Infinite Nomic Embassy is a cycle of Infinite Nomic tasked with upkeep of relations with other internet Nomics and Nomic-like games.

When a person takes an action defined by this ruleset they become a player of this round.

Embassy Proposals[edit | edit source]

An Embassy proposal is a body of text specifying one or more changes to the Embassy gamestate (including the Embassy ruleset). Any person can submit an Embassy proposal by submitting its full contents to the channel #embassy.

Unless otherwise specified by a different part of the Embassy ruleset, the voting period for an Embassy proposal lasts 72 hours after the Embassy proposal has been submitted. At the end of an Embassy proposal's voting period, each player who has a reaction of :+1: on the proposal message is considered to have voted for it, and each player who has a reaction of :-1: against. If a player's vote is unclear, their vote is considered to be against.

Once the voting period of an Embassy proposal had passed, if at least two thirds of votes on that Embassy proposal are for it and the message in which it was submitted has been neither edited nor deleted, it takes effect.

Embassy proposals are the only method by which the Embassy ruleset can be modified.

Relations Councils[edit | edit source]

The Relations Council for a game is the group of players that are tasked with keeping relations with that game and participating in that game in any official capacity that ambassadors can act in that game. Players may join and leave existing Relations Councils at will by stating that they do so in #embassy. [Non-binding note: Relations Councils are intended to be created by Embassy Proposal.]

Policies[edit | edit source]

Each Relations Council has its own ruleset, which is separate from and subordinate to the Embassy ruleset. The ruleset of a Relations Council governs only the state that exists solely because of that ruleset and members of the Relations Council. Rules that are part of a Relations Council ruleset are known as Policies. Relations Council rulesets should be tracked separately from each other and from the Embassy Ruleset.

The policies of a Relations Council associated with a specific game may:

  • Describe actions that players of the game of Infinite Nomic can take with respect to that game.
  • Describe processes relevant to that game that must be managed on the side of Infinite Nomic.

An Policy proposal is a body of text specifying one or more changes to the gamestate (including the ruleset) of a single Relations Council. Any member of a Relations Council can submit a Policy proposal by submitting its full contents to the channel #policies, provided that such submission clearly identifies which Relations Council it pertains to.

The voting period for a Policy proposal is the 72 hours after it was submitted. At the end of a Policy proposal's voting period, each player who has a reaction of :+1: on the proposal message is considered to have voted for it, and each player who has a reaction of :-1: against. If a player's vote is unclear, their vote is considered to be against.

Once the voting term of an Embassy proposal had passed, if more votes on that Embassy proposal are for it than votes on it are against, and if the message in which it was submitted has been neither edited nor deleted, it takes effect. Its effects are wholly limited to altering the gamestate (including the ruleset) of the Relations Council it pertains to.
